basketball and local colors

We work in a college town near Kansas City. We have an excellent local newspaper, complete with mobile versions. One great story about the owner of the newspaper company is that he told his online team, “I don’t like all this online stuff. I just don’t get it. If you build it and I like it, it’s probably wrong. Make something I don’t like.” Indeed, the Lawrence Journal World has done fantastic work, to the point of making a well respected open source content management system for newspapers.

Well, our local college is pretty good at basketball. In fact, the inventor of the sport coached here for several years and left his mark on the town. I like to sneak in his name into our personas. Basketball is a big sport here (much like in North Carolina).

In case you missed it, the University of Kansas beat the University of North Carolina over the weekend, and is playing in the national championships tonight.
